Lightening wood floors is an incredible process. When a wood floor has been laid for many years, it will have experienced a lot of wear and use. The surface coating starts to get worn. This can cause discolouration and dull patches. It can even start to flake.
We were asked to restore, lighten and seal this beautiful beech floor in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. When a wood floor is throughout a home, it can be even more daunting when considering restoration. This particular beech floor had seen better days. Before sanding and restoration there were areas of deep wear and discolouration. The original wood finish had completely worn away and left the floor looking unsightly. We got to work to lighten and seal the beech flooring with whitening lacquer.
